I would also love to use the desktop/browser version but the paid subscription for it wasn't even worth it for me. A few sprinkles of color would also be great and make it easier to navigate and set everything up. I switched back to the Apple Podcasts app to see if it was something with my phone and it's definitely the Pocket Casts app. It's never more than 20-30 sec but it's incredibly aggravating. On antennapod beta should be called an alpha, and even the normal client has its problems. I use Pocket Casts on iOS and I've noticed for probably around 4-6 months now that podcasts will randomly skip forward and rewind while I'm listening. And I am on the PocketCasts beta and nothing is amiss.
Overall what antennapod lacked is the dedicated focus on quality which PocketCasts provides.
